Trend Alert! The Velvet Blazer
Yes – you heard right: The Velvet Blazer.
Sounds a bit unnerving at the off doesn’t it? Trust us though, the Velvet Blazer is kind of a big deal at the moment. Plush, very English Gent and a little bit quirky, you’ll wonder why you haven’t bought one sooner. And best of all, it’s completely right for the party season…
Black Label Peak Velvet Blazer, £99
This suave thing hasn’t always been cool – granted – but it is now. It was a trend that started on the catwalk, but one that’s been translated for the high street and is now everywhere! But most importantly, a warm and comfy number, it not only looks the part but is practical for Winter too.
We think the Velvet Blazer looks dapper with a pair of sand or mustard chinos, and some super smart shoes on your feet – brogues, lace-ups, loafers, take your pick.
Equally – if you’re a scruff deep down, and don’t want to stray too far out of your comfort zone, go for beat up jeans and Converse.
Looking for some more style inspiration? Check out our 9 Guys, 1 Tux feature for outfit ideas that can be applied to the Velvet Blazer too. Go as smart or casual as you dare!
David Jason & Alexander Armstrong Frolick around in our Festive Jumpers!
When news of BBC One’s brand new Christmas ad reached Burton HQ, we had to take a peek – not least to see David Jason (a.k.a. Only Fools and Horses’ Del Boy) and Alexander Armstrong (of Armstrong & Miller) prancing around in two of our favourite patterned jumpers! Hilarious!
Here it is in all it’s glory, just waiting to be shared with your mates…
And if the sight of these two sporting on-trend patterned knitwear like it was made for them, hasn’t put you off altogether, then buy one here! Del Boy’s in the Red Diamond Crew, £38, and Armstrong’s in the Grey Aztec Print Cardigan, £55.

Win a Comedy Blu-Ray Bundle!
Guys, we’re over the moon to be offering you a humongous comedy Blu-ray bundle in our latest Facebook sweepstakes competition! Three incredibly lucky people can win five, yes five, brand new Blu-ray releases by your favourite comedians.
Good timing huh – wrap these hilarious treats up, put them under the tree, and your friends and family don’t have to know they’ve been handed to you courtesy of your mate Burton. Sneaky…
Well here’s what you can win, and our reviews of them!
PETER KAY – The Tour that didn’t Tour – Tour
A guy who likes the simple things in life (and let’s face it, so do we!) - TV and being a couch potato. There’s lots of slagging off Come Dine With Me, Secret Millionaire, Embarrassing Bodies and the rest, Xfactor spoofs that’ll have you in stitches, and trips down memory lane with stories from his childhood. Who can resist this Bolton charmer, eh?
LEE EVANS – Roadrunner Live at the O2
Lee Evans has been around a good old while now but he’s still as funny as ever! Here at Burton, we reckon it’s practically impossible to not find his energetic show, and gangly bod laugh-out-loud funny. Roadrunner is classic Lee Evans humour, revived and refreshed for 2011. A must watch!
TIM MINCHIN - Live at the Royal Albert Hall
This quirky Aussie rarely falls short of making us chuckle, and his Live at the Royal Albert Hall tour certainly doesn’t disappoint! Backed by a heavyweight orchestra, Minchin pull-offs what he does best - randomness, silly songs, backcombed hair and guy-liner.
STEPHEN MERCHANT – Hello Ladies…Live!
New to the funny man arena, Hello Ladies…Live! is Stephen Merchant’s first stand-up show. You’ll know him as Ricky Gervais’ co-writer on ‘An Idiot Abroad’, but he’s a joker in his own right too. A likeable guy, that’s got tons of amusing stories to tell (he’s 6ft7, for goodness sake!). He’ll make you laugh, just not in that uncontrollable kind of way, but we reckon you can expect great things of this guy to come…
PADDY MCGUINNESS – Saturday Night Live Tour 2011
A great laddish stand-up show, with sordid stories about strip clubs, stag dos and everything else the fairer sex would hate. It’s easy, obvious, humour from this Northern guy, but great all the same. Not one for the Mrs, but you’ll be laughing your head off!
So what are you waiting for? Enter our Comedy Competition today!
GOOD LUCK!
